Opportunity cost simply means the cost of what must be given up in order to get what you want (Frank, Bernanke Kaufman, 2007). Making economic decisions involves evaluating and comparing the cost and benefits of alternatives for the chosen course of action. The third principle is rationality. Rationality means that, every economic decision made must be evaluated on the basis of its marginal benefits over its associated marginal costs (Hubbard O’Brien, 2010). This principle recognizes th at, even very small (marginal) adjustments to a decision can bring about very great changes eventually. It is assumed that rational people will always go for that alternative that yields the highest marginal benefits. Fourth and final, is incentives. This principle means that, economic decisions must have incentives to make them convincing. A perfect example is probably the study time of at least an hour a day I have put forth to be doing my own private studies on this particular subject. In making this decision, I considered two things; time and the relevance of a better grade to my future career. In this case, the one hour a day is the marginal cost and better grade is the marginal benefit. I would have however opted for a different decision, should the grade I scored on this subject never mattered a great deal to my final grade and future career. Producers must compare the marginal benefits against the marginal costs to decide what to produce. Consumers on the other hand must evaluate the value they get against what they chose to give it up for be it money or other resources. It is therefore the interaction on one hand the producers and on the other hand consumers that determines how the economy works to achieve equilibrium. It basically is the application of economic principles on one hand by consumers and on the other producers that the forces of demand and supply are founded and hence a market economy. The main attributes of a market economy is th at buyers and sellers are the main participants in the market and that there is no outside interference by the government. In a centrally planned economy, a central agency such as the government is involved in planning and making major economic decisions. A mixed economy is where there is a mix of buyers and sellers allowed to make some decisions as well as the government (Mankiw, 2008). The type of economic system in place to larger extent affects the economic interactions. In purely market system, the forces of supply and demand fully define economic interactions. The planned economy on the other hand, supply and demand forces play a very minimal role in market interactions as it is the government or central agency that determines the questions of what, how, and by whom. Research Method Used: Experimental design and correlational study Test Subjects/ Participants: The test subjects were thirty male college students ranging from the ages 18 and 22 Variables that are being examined: The variables that are being examined are aggression, and testosterone levels How they are operationally defined and measure: The subject’s aggression was operationally defined by the amount of hot sauce in grams that they poured into the cup of water, it was measured on a scale. The testosterone levels were defined by the difference in the saliva from time 1 and time 2 briefly, what procedure was employed: Before the experiment begun both the experimental and the control group were asked to give a 6-ml sample of their saliva, which was used to measure their starting testosterone levels. The subjects were then placed in similar rooms with a particular item on a table. For the experimental group, the particular item was a pellet gun identical in size, shape and feel too a Desert Eagle handgun. The Control subjects object was the children’s game Mouse Trap. Subjects were then told to handle the objects for 15 minutes and other tasks pertaining to the object. After the 15 minutes were over another saliva sample was taken. The subject was then told to take a sip of water with a single drop of hot sauce. The subject was then told that the sample had been prepared by a previous subject and to rate the taste of the sample on a provided scale. The subject was then told to create a sample for the next subject by placing as much hot sauce in the water that they wanted but was assured that neither the next subject nor the experimenter would know how much hot sauce they put in it. Lastly the subjects had to watch a relaxing video of nature scenes and classical music. What were the results: The subjects who interacted with the handgun showed a greater increase in testosterone from the 1st saliva sample to the 2nd sample. Also subjects who interacted with the gun added more hot sauce to the water meaning that interacting with the gun increased aggressive behavior. Lastly the amount of hot sauce placed in the cup was positively correlated with changes in testosterone level.

The civil rights movement in the middle of the 20th century marked an important point in the changing of race relations in the United States. Prior to and during the civil rights movement, African-Americans faced legally sanctioned persecution and Jim Crow justice at the hands of white Americans. Peaceful protests and other methods of civil disobedience were often met with aggression and violence from whites. Although legally having the right to vote since the 19th century, many African-Americans were unable to practice their right. Poll taxes and often outright violence made exercising their right to vote difficult and dangerous. In 1961, Robert Parris Moses worked to register fellow African-Americans to vote, and he and his coworkers were met with much resistance from the white community. "Along with other SNCC workers who subsequently joined him and local blacks who supported them, Moses was harassed and beaten; he was jailed several times. The threat of violence discouraged most blacks from registering" (Albert, 69). In the result of Brown vs. the Board of Education, the Supreme Court ruled that segregation was unconstitutional. This decision reversed the previous decision in the case of Plessy vs. Ferguson, ruling in favor of the legality of the separation of races, as long as the facilities were equal. After the legal ending of segregation, one of the major focuses of African-Americans was to integrate schools. They wanted their children to benefit from the better facilities of the schools for white children. Unfortunately, the integration of schools was also met with resistance and violence from white communities.
